Illustrated Book Review: Sapiens

I’ve been holding on to some of my comic/illustration work for a long time. Like, 2 years. Now, I’m starting to go through some of my sketchbooks and picking some to share. Hopefully, there will be some sign of progress over time *insert cry-laugh emoji*

A couple years ago, Billy and I listened to the audiobook of Sapiens by Yuval Noah Harari. It was so thought-provoking and kept both of us quiet during our road trip to the mountains. I guess now that I think about it, I drew these in the car while I was listening.

Sapiens Book Review in Comic
Mushroom Cloud

This book covered sooooo many topics: religion, the mind-body connection in medicine, agricultural revolution, evil forces, justice, levels of chaos, game theory and postmodernism, space exploration, nuclear energy, and the scientific and the digital revolutions. My head is spinning but in a good way.

I have no answers for where we are going but I enjoy learning our history and its fun knowing enough to identify historical patterns as we go forward. If this sounds like your jam, you may also like Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall.
