COVID-19 – Stay Home and Draw Week 2

Ok, it’s Day 17 of COVID-19 isolation living. Overall, it’s a bit of a blur. I did some work, I went on some walks, I felt sad, I felt happy, I danced in my office/den, and I read some great books. A roller-coaster of emotion, up and down, but feeling like we are all in this together.

Other stuff I’ve done to occupy myself:

  • SkillShare Classes in Drawing Expressive Faces and Digitizing Watercolour Art
  • Enrolled in an history online course – Visualizing Japan on EdX
  • Watched movies
  • Finished Hip Hop Evolution, Season 4 on Netflix
  • Created a Spring COVID-19 Staycation Capsule Wardrobe

And here are this week’s sketches.

Newspaper Clippings of where we are with COVID-19 in Canada on Mar 21, 2020.
Experimenting with gouache and watercolour for the first time for “Nearby Nature”
My favourite sketch of this week – Childhood Nostalgia. I’ve been a longtime Muppet fan.
“Look Down” – the view of my desk during work-time hours. Lots of espresso. Painted this with leftover coffee and watercolour.
Prompt was “Screentime Addiction” and this is the decision process in my household. Inspired by the great illustrator, Wendy MacNaughton.
“Skype Portraits” – I had three friends send me selfies and I drew those. Didn’t do justice to my friend’s beauty. I’m still learning.
“Isolation Fashion” which I re-branded at Staycation Fashion. I’m really letting my pre-professional self room to play.
“Your Favourite Tom” and mine is Tom Haverford from Parks and Rec.

Wishing you all a safe and healthy upcoming week :)
