The post-it playlist – 2014’s Jam
I’ve created playlist for you of my favourite 2014 tunes, a compilation of random post-it notes hastily written in my battered up planner. They collected over a year of being at work, on the road, and at home. The mix is 80 minutes long (just like those old burnt CDs I made in high school). It’s a mish-mash of songs I discovered in 2014, current or old-school, that I couldn’t stop listening to.
Music is an important part of memories I collect over a year. Reflecting on 2014, a challenging year of adult problems, bureaucracy, workplace navigation, and a smattering of trips I’m eager to see what is ahead in 2015. “My ducks are starting to form a row” and I like it. Knock on wood.
Learned and affirmed in 2014:
- Trust intuition
- Send positive energy into the universe and it will return
- Be open but be aware of personal limits
- Really listen to what people are and aren’t saying
- Get outside of the comfort zone
- Freedom is important for a healthy well-being
- Be present (but people still want you to answer your mobile phone)
Tomorrow we head to Belgium to celebrate Christmas and ring in the new year, a pretty spectacular start to 2015!
